WHAT IS OUR EMPHASIS?
Roughly 75% of Christians accepted Christ as a child. Once one becomes a youth, the percentage of those that accept Christ drops dramatically. It is absolutely crucial to teach our children the Word of God and to lead them to Christ!
What God wants us to do with our children and our family…
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
We must accept Christ as our Lord and Savior…
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is with your mouth that you. profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
You need to have the Holy Spirit living within you and be “born again”
Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
How do I know my whole family will go to heaven?
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life.” (Spoken by John the Baptist) John 3:36
Children need to know God has been with them from day one, created them, and made them for a purpose…
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14
Parents need to be spiritual leaders so children can have Godly guidance…
“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9
Parent and Church Partnership……Teaching takes place everywhere and with everyone’s help. Children must know scripture and Biblical truth to lean upon throughout their life.
“Train a child on the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Psalm 22:6
“But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 (Matthew 19:14 & Mark 10:14 refer to this also.)
